I have been creating bodies of work about chronic pain using shells and pearls as the main thematic. After a residency in Thailand where I created a poetry shell mobile using muscle and clam shells from the local market, I figured out how to print my poems onto oyster shells while I was an Artist in Residence at the Joy Kogawa House.
